So old but so cool
When is it good to ‘throw up’ your kids on a wall? When you’re illustration/graf dad Ward Jenkins.
“It’s been about two years since I last painted one of my characters on a wall. Two years in graffiti-time is like two lifetimes. I’ve been missing it. Why such a long sabbatical? Life. Life just moves on, as some things become more important to me than others. I don’t mind that, actually. I’ll be the first to admit to other graffiti writers that graffiti is not my lifestyle, and I’ve received nothing but love from them for being honest. Graffiti takes time away from the family, and I value my family more than anything. I’m not trying to be something that I’m not, and other writers pick up on that, and give me respect.” - Ward

he would probably make a great muralist. it would be cool to have a wall of your house with a graffitied portraite.

It would be interesting to see what it looks like today. I’d like to know if taggers got to it and what did they write.

Hey, thanks for the mention! I really appreciate it.
big mama — i’ve done a mural for this one store where I used to live, in Decatur, GA. You can check it here.
Big Poppa — As far as I know, that mural is still up and running, although I might have my doubts. I’ve since moved from Atlanta to Portland, OR, but I can still find out via some of my buddies who are still in the ATL.
Thanks again.

Hey Ward, I thought the ‘dad and kids’ work was the coolest… until I came across your ‘unusual mother’s day gift‘. I bet you haven’t had to top it. After that it seems flowers and a reminder would do the trick.
