Spider-Man is our favorite super hero (when Superman or Batman aren’t around). These couch parkour stunts may seem crazy, but they’re an everyday occurrence in our apartment. Actually the only thing different about these stunts is the Spider-Man mask. Watch and enjoy.
We went to the Macy’s Petacular on Sunday… What a zoo! Devon enjoyed all the “funny animals”. And his favorite was the “pink pig” that says “wink-wink”. But why am I telling you this? It’s all in the video.
Devon loves to break dance, or “bake-dance” as he calls it. He has his bake-dance pants (sweats), his bake-dance shirt (any hoodie will do) and of course his bake-dance music (we currently play the Freestylers ‘We Rock Hard‘ when he makes a request - it’s old-schoolish with not too much cursing - though this is set to Fatboy Slim).
The other day while on our commute home we came across his idols, the bake-dance guys. We shot this video (with a photo camera hence no sound) on the subway platform and then a bit more at home as Devon instructed mommy and daddy in the proper foot moves to make while bake-dancing, “No, no, not like that. Lemme show you… Like this. Yeah, like this.”
We took Devon bowling once at Chelsea Piers. He was with another toddler about a year younger than he. We thought it was going to be an expensive evening, but bowling with two toddlers is a very slow process and we ended up playing only 1 match in an hour and a half.
Since then he’s been fixated on bowling, so I brought the game home with a few toilet paper rolls and a size 1 soccer ball. Now he plays almost every night.
At first we thought we would just let Devon experience Christmas through the gifts he got from his aunts, uncles and grandparents - after all, he, thankfully, has no concept of Santa and thinks he’s a “snowman?’
But a few days before the 25th we all started getting into the spirit. Liza bought a tree, I bought little gifts, he opened them all on Christmas morning.
** This episode is especially for grandma Dulcey who loves the silly, sea-dwelling sponge.
I guess I was procrastinating with the whole ‘get a family pet’ thing, so Devon decided to take matters into his own hands. We are now the proud caretakers of a dog… just the kind of dog I like.
The dogcurious? section is just for me. My son and I can visit the site on cold winter days when going to the dog run - my solution for supplying his dog fix - is just out of the question.
